HAZET HD video borescope set with 360° swivelling probe ⌀ 3.9 mm

Tight installation spaces within industrial machinery, cable ducts, motors and other cavities – such as combustion chambers or car body parts – cannot be seen with the naked eye. For these application fields, HAZET, the Remscheid-based specialist in high-quality tools, has expanded its product range to include the new HD video borescope with a 360° swivelling probe (⌀ 3.9 mm), available under HAZET No. 4812-24/4AF.

The camera probe with a length of one metre and a thickness of just 3.9 millimetres provides razor-sharp and optimally illuminated views of areas that would otherwise remain hidden. With a focus range of 5 to 100 millimetres, even the smallest defects, such as hairline cracks or scratches, can be detected. A standout feature is the simple and intuitive control system via a joystick, which allows the camera head to be directed in any desired direction to provide a 360° panoramic view (180° axially, 360° radially).

In a consistently cost-conscious move, the HD video borescope does not include its own display unit but instead connects intelligently to a standard smartphone, which acts as both a display and a storage device. Once installed on the mobile device, an app developed especially for this purpose provides additional convenient functions, such as zooming in on the image. The app also displays a zoom factor of up to five times, allows the image to be rotated in 90° increments and shows the current temperature at the camera. The temperature sensor on the camera automatically switches the device off if the temperature is exceeded, in order to protect the hardware. This alerts the user to remove the probe from the hot area and allow it to cool down.

The probe, which is waterproof to IP67, is designed for an operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C. The 3-level brightness setting with white light ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 lux, as well as control of photo and video recording, is operated via ergonomically positioned control buttons on the basic unit or, alternatively, via the app.

The storage capacity for recordings is limited only by the memory of the smartphone being used. The smartphone mount, which is lockable using a knurled wheel, is designed for device widths of 58 to 100 mm. The basic unit, which is spray-water-proof to IP54, can be used within an operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C.

If required, the HAZET HD video borescope can add a timestamp to all locations. The HD video borescope set comes in a protective soft case, including a moulded insert, containing the basic unit along with the 3.9 mm ⌀ HD probe, three data cables for connection to a compatible smartphone (USB-A to USB-C for Android and newer Apple devices, USB-A to Micro USB for older Android devices and USB-A to Lightning for older Apple devices), as well as a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging the device.
